Moroccan tiles inspiration

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Morocco.  I'm so inspired by the tiles and mosaic work.  We visited a factory near Fes where the mosaic pieces were created by hand.  First they make a solid color large square tile using natural pigments for the glazes.  Then they chip through the glaze to make the desired mosaic shape using a very sharp hammer.  Then the main part of the mosaic piece is further chipped away so the mosaic will fit with other pieces.  Thus, for example, a single star shaped piece will have been chipped at dozens of times.  Each one has to be perfect.  To put the mosaic together they place all the pieces face down, so they cannot see how it will look until it's all grouted.
